Welcome to Atalanta’s

Oxford University’s Club for elite sportswomen

Atalanta’s is the leading society that seeks to promote women in sport and to enhance the careers of elite sportswomen who study at the University of Oxford. Founded in 1992, we have grown as a society over the years and now have a wide network of resident members from over 20 different sports teams across the university, as well as a strong alumni database.

Women’s sport at Oxford has gone from strength to strength in the last few years. Moments of particular excitement were the first time the Ladies Blues Boat joined the men for the first time on the Thames to participate in the annual, televised Varsity Boat Race in 2015, and the Women’s Rugby Blues playing at Twickenham in 2016. It is wonderful that these fixtures are now constants in the Oxford sporting calendar, and Atalanta’s will continue to support female athletes, and all who coach them, in making Oxford University sport full of more exciting opportunities.  My committee and I aim to ensure that 2016-2017 is as exciting as expected, if not more so, and also that Atalanta’s continues to be at the forefront of this progress and support in the upcoming year.

Our website will give you information about Atalanta’s in general, our current committee, membership eligibility and benefits, upcoming Atalanta’s events, and also our current sponsors. Equally, if you have any queries at all, please do not hesitate to contact me by email:
