Teammate of the Year Award
The “Teammate of the Year Award” is presented annually at the Sports Federation Ball.
It was created to recognise an important aspect of team sport that often goes inrecognised in lieu of pure sporting ability. The Award invites sportswomen to nominate a teammate who has shown dedication to her fellow team members and has greatly contributed to the life of her club.
We would like to congratulate this year’s winner – Helen Hanstock (Athletics) – who was presented with the Teammate of the Year shield, bottle of champagne and Atalanta’s scarf at this year’s Ball.

We are also happy to report that Helen has been elected to serve as the President of the Sports Federation this upcoming year and has joined the 2011-2012 Atalanta’s Committee.
Alan Chetwynd, President of OUAC 2008-2009 said of Helen: “Helen is a fantastically caring and understanding person who will always give up her time to help members of her team. I can think of no-one more deserving of this award.”
Congratulations to all of the girls who were nominated by their team mates. Special mention goes to our two short-listed candidates – Sophie Cuthbertson (Netball) and Rosie Davis (Fencing).
