Alumnae Update
Dear Atalanta’s Member,
This year marks our 20th Anniversary and I am happy to report that Atalanta’s continues to grow stronger on all fronts.
On the University side, the current committees flourished under the leadership of Julia Lowis and Alice Gardner whilst alumni relations continued to improve with the efforts of the Trustees through the annual Christmas Dinner and cocktail events in London.
We now have a solid database of our alumni and we continue to work hard to provide you with opportunities to maintain your ties with the University, your teammates and fellow Atalanta’s members.
After serving as President of the Society for two years and Alumni Secretary for two, I have now been elected to serve as a Trustee. In this role I continue to strive to bring together both new and old members alike.

The Trustees are delighted to hear about the excellent work that the current Atalanta’s committee are continuing to do and about the many successes Atalanta’s members have had over the past year. It is reassuring to see that Oxford sportswomen continue to uphold the elite status of sport at the University and to go from strength to strength.
Each year the Atalanta’s grants provide additional financial support to Oxford sportswomen and every year it is incredibly difficult to choose between the successful and deserving applications for the grants. To ensure that the Atalanta’s Trust can continue to support Oxford sportswomen we encourage alumni members to make an annual £10 contribution to the Atalanta’s Trust and, where possible to add gift aid to that contribution. In terms of Trustee news, it is with regret that we say goodbye to our longest standing and most committed Trustee, Serena Gosling, who is standing down after 10 years. She has been a member of the Trustee committee since its inception and has been a huge asset to Atalanta’s Club as a whole. On behalf of the Trustees and the Club, we would like to say a huge thank you for all her support and wish her the very best of luck in her job masterminding preparations for the London Olympics 2012 – keep us informed about spare tickets!
We also say farewell to Michelle Pratt and Kerri Lancaster (nee Shields) who have both been dedicated and enthusiastic Trustees for a number of years. We thank them both for their valued contributions to the Trust.
As inevitably follows every departure of old, there must be an arrival of new and we would like to extend a warm invitation to all Atalanta’s alumni to put themselves forwards to become a Trustee.
